Fiction Factory was established way back in 2001 to create great drama from Wales available everywhere.

With distribution to over a 100 countries and more than 80 nominations and awards it has worked across all genres from surreal sitcom SATELLITE CITY and epic historical odyssey PEN TALAR to the ground breaking crime drama HINTERLAND/Y GWYLL.

Creative Director

Ed is the company’s founder and Executive producer.As a playwright, screenwriter, producer and director he has been responsible for over 200 hours of the company’s multi award winning output including DAL YMA NAWR, SILENT VILLAGE, CWMGIEDD/COLOMBIA, GWAITH/CARTREF and HINTERLAND/Y GWYLL. His plays have been produced all over the UK and internationally including the Donmar Warehouse,Tramway Glasgow, The Royal Court London, festivals in Edinburgh and Melbourne and translated into more than 10 languages. They include HOUSE OF AMERICA, EAST FROM THE GANTRY, SONG FROM A FORGOTTEN CITY and GAS STATION ANGEL. His latest play ON BEAR RIDGE, produced by National Theatre Wales and the Royal Court will open in 2019 at the Sherman Theatre Cardiff and the Royal Court London.

Ed is an Arts Foundation Fellow, Honorary Fellow at The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and Visiting Professor and Honorary Fellow at the University of Aberystwyth.

Ffion Williams
Writer/Producer

Ffion has worked as a Producer for the company since 2016, producing 30 hours of S4C’s hit drama Gwaith/Cartref. Ffion is now developing her first feature film with award winning novelist Manon Steffan Ros, co-creating a new web series, FOMO with writer/director Mared Bryn(which is currently in development with S4C) and has co-created 6 part contemporary drama series, UNED, – which has recently been commissioned by S4C.

She will be producing the series in 2020.
